Just in case you needed a reminder! Chapters on poverty, race, prison, resilience, trust, trauma, stress, and what it means to be an educator of vulnerable children. Tons of research and a great introduction into the way I think about behaviour and its relationship with social structures and justice.

A book that changed everything for me. Case studies (trigger warning: some of them are extremely distressing) of young people who have experienced significant adversity, with a focus on how best to understand their behaviour and help them heal. Brilliant explanations that don't require a clinical background but will help you work with some of the most vulnerable children.

An insightful book that brilliantly articulates the internal experience of anger and defensive responses. Contains a useful and thought-provoking section on how to break down communication barriers with an upset teenager and avoid those restorative conversations that seem to stall or fall apart.
